MAKANA CELEBRATES CD RELEASE
Marco Olivari, left, general manager of Blue Note Hawaii, congratulated Makana after his sold-out first show Saturday at the jazz club. Makana was celebrating the release of his aptly titled CD, “Music You Heard Tonight,” and his upcoming move to Los Angeles where he will embark on a new chapter in his career. Makana told the audience that there is a significant difference between being an instrumental “virtuoso” and someone whose career is “based on songs,” but he plans to be both.
