Union protesters rallied in front of the Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki Beach Walk on Thursday to support Trump Hotel Las Vegas workers who are calling on Donald Trump, co-owner of the hotel and the Republican nominee for president, to start contract negotiations. More than 500 employees at the Las Vegas hotel voted in December to unionize, but management hasn’t started bargaining with them. UNITE HERE Local 5 organized the Waikiki protest. Union officials say workers at Trump’s Las Vegas hotel earn about $3 less per hour compared with their counterparts on the Las Vegas Strip. Company and campaign officials didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
