Punahou beats Saint Louis to tie for ILH lead
Nick Kapule threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns and No. 3 Punahou shut down No. 2 Saint Louis and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in a 33-20 victory tonight at Aloha Stadium.
The Buffanblu (5-1, 4-1 ILH) moved into a first-place tie with Saint Louis (5-1, 4-1) with one game remaining in the ILH regular season. Saint Louis plays Kamehameha at Aloha Stadium on Oct. 7 and Punahou hosts ‘Iolani that same day.
Tagovailoa, who accounted for nine touchdowns in a 64-44 win over Punahou earlier this month and set a school record with 493 yards passing in a win over ‘Iolani last week, was held to 118 passing yards and committed three turnovers.
Punahou’s Ryan Dominick had a fumble recovery, a sack and an interception and Miki Suguturaga had two sacks and recorded a safety for the Punahou defense.
Ronson Young rushed for two touchdowns and backup quarterback Chevan Cordeiro scored on an 11-yard touchdown run on the final play of the game for Saint Louis.
The loss by the Crusaders leaves Kapaa as the only undefeated team remaining in Hawaii.

My goodness, Kapaa the only undefeated team in Hawaii. A division 2 team. Billy Hull makes it seem like Kapaa is head and heels above all the division 1 teams on Oahu. Undefeated on Kauai seems like a more reasonable statement.
A okm
“The loss by the Crusaders leaves Kapaa as the only undefeated team remaining in Hawaii” is just a statement of fact. The writer didn’t taint it either way. It’s the reader who put the spin on it. BTW, it’s just HIGH SCHOOL sports.
