Donald Trump Jr. likens Syrian refugees to poisoned Skittles

Donald Trump, Jr., son of Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump, speaks during the second day session of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on July 19.

WASHINGTON » Donald Trump Jr. has posted a message on Twitter likening Syrian refugees to a bowl of poisoned Skittles.

Seeking to promote his father’s presidential campaign, the younger Trump posted a tweet featuring a bowl of the candy Skittles with a warning.

“If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you just three would kill you, would you take a handful?” said the tweet on the verified @DonaldTrumpJr handle.

“That’s our Syrian refugee problem,” said the post, which caused a stir and negative tweets on the internet into Tuesday.

Young Trump’s tweet said, “This image says it all. Let’s end the politically correct agenda that doesn’t put America first.”

His father has advocated sharply restraining immigration and has accused opponent Hillary Clinton of advocating acceptance of tens of thousands of refugees.

The tweet came as world leaders meeting at the United Nations today approved a declaration aimed at providing a more coordinated and humane response to the global refugee crisis, among which Syrians are a major grouping.

During the campaign Trump has repeatedly called for a moratorium on accepting Syrian refugees. This is part of a more wide-ranging policy on immigrants that has ranged from an outright ban on foreign Muslim immigrants entering the United States “until we know what the hell is going on” to “extreme” vetting and an ideological test for would-be immigrants from countries and regions plagued by extremism.

Clinton has said she would expand President Barack Obama’s refugee program to accept about 65,000 Syrian refugees. This would be in addition to the tens of thousands of refugees accepted from around the world every year. Clinton said she would continue with the vetting currently in place, an effort that can take multiple years to complete.

Hundreds of thousands of Syrians have sought refuge in Europe while many others wait in neighboring countries and refugee camps for the war to end or a chance to move away from the carnage. Obama pledged the U.S. would accept 10,000 Syrians this budget year, which ends Sept. 30, and achieved that number a month early. This is in addition to about 75,000 refugees from other parts of the world.

Yum, Skittles. Maybe just a few would be ok.

His slick back hair look screams A-hole.

  3. bumbye says:

I love Skittles! I hope he makes a Play-Doh analogy next. I love Play-Doh too.

He looks like one of the “nice frat” guys (the bad guys) in Animal House.

  5. klastri says:

This worthless son is every bit the loser his father is.

This is what happens when a parent is a bigoted, white supremacist racist imbecile.

      That’s an unfortunate post.

      • bsdetection says:

No, the unfortunate posts come from Trump Jr., who has spewed forth a steady stream of memes, images, and comments drawn from racist, white-nationalist, alt-right, neo-nazi and anti-Semitic websites. Skittles are not just a randomly chosen metaphor for immigrants; they are a white-nationalist meme used by supporters of George Zimmerman to refer to Trayvon Martin. When Trump Jr tweeted an image showing his father next to a green cartoon frog, it wasn’t just an image of a randomly selected, innocent cartoon character; Pepe The Frog has been adopted as a mascot by white-nationalists. And, in the same image, 9/11 truther Alex Jones stands next to Donald Trump. When Trump Jr compares reporters to Nazis or makes holocaust jokes or re-tweets the anti-Semitic writings of Holocaust denier Kevin MacDonald or the writings of Theodore Beale (who once said that “being a Jew makes you not an American, by definition”) or when he appears on a radio show with James Edwards (who has praised slavery and says that intern-racial sex is white genocide), he is deplorable. Trump Jr has been the featured guest on a radio show named, appropriately, The Political Cesspool, which lists among its objectives, “to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races.”

spell check made a bizarre correction in my post above; when I typed interracial, it “corrected” it to “intern-racial”

        • DPK says:

Hey BS: you forgot to mention Obama’s racist nudge to Black voters. The rest of your post is really entertaining. Are you hiding under your bed?

        • klastri says:

DPK – What, exactly, did Mr. Obama say that you think is racist? What were his exact words?

Your accusation is ridiculous, of course. But you answer might be entertaining. He said nothing that could be characterized as racist by anyone who understand what that word means. Do you?

      • Keonigohan says:

        Cajaybird…agree.

    • calentura says:

And who parented you? Haughty, arrogant snobs? Is it possible you acquired your God complex all by yourself..?

      • klastri says:

Who were my parents? Glad you asked.

Parents that weren’t serial adulterers like Mr. Trump is, who abandoned his children when they were young. Parents who didn’t walk away from their obligations or manufacture bankruptcies that drove small businesses into the ground by the dozen, like Mr. Trump. Parents who started and ran a foundation that used its money lawfully instead of using tax exempt funds to buy gigantic portraits of my father, like Mr. Trump’s foundation does. Parents who were not white supremacists, racists or bigots, and who would never associate with them, like Mr. Trump does. Parents who did not craft a fraudulent “university” that was an organized criminal conspiracy designed to steal money from people, like Mr. Trump did.

That’s who. Thanks again for asking.

        • sarge22 says:

The question was who were your parents not who they weren’t. Can you possibly answer a simple question.

    • Allaha says:

klastri, the losers are people like you who condemn us to a violent future by allowing Muslims into the country.

    • Ronin006 says:

Trump Jr. did a fantastic job explaining the Syrian refugee problem, which liberals do not seem to understand, by using a simply analogy that even a first grader would understand. Unfortunately, there are some like Klastri who still do not get it.

      • Ikefromeli says:

What do you get when your life has never really included working, when in lieu of actually being read, you spill out idioms that are at once insensitive, exploitative and nary any granular understanding that you should afford people, when your life is one privileges existence after another, when you have no friends or color or other demographic diversity, when the thought of public service has never creeped into your mind, you reside within the words of the trumps….

  6. DPK says:

If we had intelligent leadership, safe zones would be established in these people’s own countries so they wouldn’t have to leave.

    • peanutgallery says:

If you’re over 50, then you remember that’s why used to happen. People don’t want to be displaced from their homeland. This whole new idea of immigration is absurd, and dangerous. We’ve seen the results in Europe. It’s a disaster.

  7. lunalilohi says:

The entire Trump family talks at a fourth grade level just like their Dad to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Multisyllabic words do not exist in their vocabulary. Inclusion, geopolitics, empathy, awareness, technology all have top many syllables for them.

  8. bsdetection says:

Today, Donald Trump Jr dove back into the cesspool where he finds his most repulsive ideas and retweeted from an anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant British activist claiming that “Western woman will be sacrificed at the altar of mass migration.”.

  9. WizardOfMoa says:

Wow! The misleading headlines doesn’t jive with what Trump Jr.’s skittles metaphor’s of refugees. It creates an uproar and an avalanche of hatred where none should exist! Have we become lemmings without pausing to dissecting everything we read?

  10. keaukaha says:

The fruit doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

  11. Ikefromeli says:

Donald Trump, disregarding centuries of atrocities faced by black people in America, claimed Tuesday that black communities have never been worse off than they are now.

Speaking at a rally in Kenansville, North Carolina, Trump again stumbled in an apparent attempt to endear himself to black voters.

“We’re going to make our country safe again. We’re going to rebuild our inner cities because our African-American communities are absolutely in the worst shape that they’ve ever been in before,” he said. “Ever, ever, ever.”

The comment, made in a city named for a slave owner, is objectively untrue, and completely ignores that black people were once subjected to slavery and Jim Crow laws.

Only an estimated 60 million lives were either lost or enslaved during slavery. What a totally just uneducated person….

    • klastri says:

It seems impossible that Mr. Trump and his supporters could be this clueless. It’s like a large swath of the population didn’t attend middle school.

What do you think caused this? Is the racism so entrenched that normal levels of intelligence and reason can’t reach his supporters? This is a bad problem.

Trump is obviously a psychotic, but what about his sad supporters?

      • sarge22 says:

Crickets…Trump moving up in the polls so something must be working. On the other hand the competition is not well and untruthful. “Make America Great Again”

  12. RetiredWorking says:

I don’t agree with Jr. Trump’s analogy one bit. How about this TRUE analogy: One in 68 newborns will be autistic. That’s about two out of a bowl of 136 Skittles. Would you/did you and your significant other chance creating a beautiful child? OF COURSE YOU WOULD or DID!

    • RetiredWorking says:

I’m not racist, but couldn’t Trump Jr. used many other nationalities or cultures to poison his Skittles, ie blacks, Mexicans, Hawaiians, Samoans, Micronesians?

  13. lespark says:

The Clingons are running scared. They might have to leave the Country. Laugh at that. From the White House to the Out House and the Jail House.
