Punahou graduate Mariel Galdiano finished tied for 29th at 8-over-par 296 at the World Amateur Team Championship on Saturday at Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Galdiano, who attends UCLA, shot a final-round 2-over 74.
Hye jin Choi of South Korea won at 274.
The United States finished sixth at 574, which was 27 strokes behind winner South Korea. There were 55 teams in the tournament.
Andrea Lee (286) and Katelyn Dambaugh (291) were Galdiano’s teammates.
Bacani lifts Vulcans over Silverswords
Evan Bacani scored twice, including the game-winner with 12 seconds left in overtime, as the Hawaii Hilo men’s soccer team beat Chaminade 2-1 on Saturday at Paiea Stadium.
Bacani, who scored at 1:04:48, also found the back of the net at 67:51 for the Vulcans (1-3).
Micah Mokulehua scored at 13:40 for the Silverswords (0-2).

Madison Gates scored at 27:03 off an assist from Abcde Zoller as the Hawaii Hilo women’s soccer team beat Chaminade 1-0 on Saturday at Paiea Stadium.
The Vulcans improved to 2-1, while the Silverswords dropped to 0-3.
