California man nearly drowns off West Maui
A 38-year-old Pasedena, Calif., man was in critical condition today after he was found floating in the ocean off West Maui, firefighters said.
Someone noticed the man unresponsive and pulled him from the water near Black Rock in Kaanapali about 12:50 p.m., said Maui Fire Department spokesman Edward Taomoto.
Good Samaritans began CPR until paramedics and police officers took over.
First responders revived the man and took him to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
