Status of Wildcats quarterback Solomon remains uncertain
The University of Arizona’s choice of a starting quarterback for Saturday’s game with Hawaii is apparently still up in the air, head coach Rich Rodriguez said today.
“We’ll know this weekend,” Rodriguez said on the Pac-12 Conference media teleconference when asked about the status of junior Anu Solomon.
Solomon, who was born in Hawaii and started the past two seasons as well as this year’s opener, injured his left knee in practice last weekend and did not suit up for the game against Grambling State. He wore a brace on his left knee at the game.
Brandon Dawkins, a redshirt sophomore, made his first start in Solomon’s place and completed 15 of 29 passes for 223 yards. He passed for one touchdown and ran for two others, all in the second half.
The Wildcats (1-1) are a 24.5-point favorite over UH (1-2) on Las Vegas betting lines.
The game will be shown on the Pac-12 Network at 4:45 p.m. (Hawaii time).
