2 crashed cars are found on rocky shore on Kauai

Kūhiō Highway in Wainiha remains closed in both directions following two separate traffic crashes that occurred in the same area shortly before 9 a.m. on Saturday. Details on the traffic crashes are not yet known, however, one crash resulted in a downed utility line. Crews from Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) and Hawaiian Telcom responded to the scene and completed repairs by 10 a.m. As of 10:30 a.m., police were waiting on the last vehicle to be towed from the scene before the highway could be reopened.

Kuhio Highway in Wainiha on Kauai was closed in both directions following the discovery of two crashed vehicles at about 9 a.m. Crews from Kauai Island Utility Cooperative and Hawaiian Telcom responded to the scene and completed repairs to a downed utility pole by 10 a.m. The highway reopened at 10:40 a.m. after the second car was removed.
