UH soccer wins in OT again
Raisa Strom-Okimoto erased a number of missed opportunities for the Hawaii soccer team, which prevailed 1-0 over Idaho State in overtime tonight at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
UH (3-0-1) won outright the second Outrigger Soccer Classic tournament of the season and maintained its best start overall since 2007.
Strom-Okimoto fired her golden goal while on the move from past 20 yards. The ball found a seam through several players and deflected off the ISU goalkeeper’s hands and in. It was UH’s 23rd shot of the game.
It was the second straight game UH won it overtime; it beat Sacramento State 1-0 in double-overtime on Thursday.
UH continues play at home next week against Idaho and Saint Mary’s on Thursday and Friday.
