The Hawaii Diamonds opened pool play with an 8-2 loss to the Southeastern (Glenn Allen, Va.) Champion on Sunday morning at the 10U Cal Ripken World Series in West Palm Beach, Fla. Shonty Passi went 2-for-2 as the Diamonds concluded the game that was rained out from Saturday.
Game 2 was suspended due to thunder and lightning in the sixth inning with Hawaii leading the Ohio Valley (South Bend, Ind.) Champion 10-6. When the game resumes today (weather permitting), the Diamonds will be at bat with the bases loaded and two outs.
