Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks at the 2016 National Association of Black Journalists’ and National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ Hall of Fame Luncheon at Marriott Wardman Park in Washington today.

WASHINGTON >> Hillary Clinton acknowledged today the challenge she’d face leading a country where most Americans don’t trust her, saying she takes “seriously” the work she must do to build confidence in her character.

But the Democratic presidential nominee also claimed that a broad electoral victory over Donald Trump in November would give her the capital needed to push her plans through Congress with Republican support and appeared to blame her political opponents for her low approval ratings.

Clinton pointed to the high ratings she won as secretary of state and as a senator from New York, arguing that voters like her more when she’s working than when she’s campaigning — something she attributed to campaign attacks on her character.

“Were 67 percent of the people in New York wrong? Were 66 percent of the American public wrong?” Clinton said. “Just maybe, when I’m actually running for a job, there is a real benefit to those on the other side with trying to stir up as much trouble as possible.”

Clinton’s trustworthiness has emerged as her biggest weakness in the fall campaign, one worsened by her responses to questions about her use of private emails servers as secretary of state and her reluctance to take regular questions from journalists.

The questions-and-answer session today at a joint meeting of the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists marked the first time she’s talked about how that political problem could impact her future administration.

Clinton attempted to “clarify and explain” a recent statement on Fox News Sunday that FBI Director James Comey had said her answers about her emails practices were “truthful.”

“I may have short-circuited and for that I will try to clarify,” she said. Comey was speaking solely about her responses in a closed-door FBI interview, and not her public comments on the issue, which have included inconsistencies.

Clinton has claimed she never sent or received anything marked classified. In reviewing the FBI’s investigation, Comey said seven e-mail chains dealt with matters that were “that were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level when they were sent and received.”

During the short question-and-answer session, Clinton also detailed some of her plans should she win the White House, promising to make an overhaul of America’s immigration system a “clear, high priority.”

She argued that a broad victory, one that included Democrats winning control of the Senate and tightening their margin in the House, would put pressure on Republicans to come along.

“There’s nothing like winning to change minds,” she said. “I view the political landscape as increasingly favorable to us making this happen.”

That logic would depend on Republicans changing the political calculus they’ve made over the past eight years. Even when President Barack Obama held majorities in both the Senate and House during his first term, he was still unable to find widespread Republican support for his plans.

Her comments Friday came before an unusual audience: the media. Clinton last held a formal press conference more than eight months ago. Aides says she’s conducted over 300 interviews since launching her campaign, but she has shied away from open forums where reporters can ask questions.

Friday’s event was carefully controlled, with Clinton taking just seven questions from preselected journalists.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/08/05/clinton-cash-exposes-the-clintons-past-and-the-obamas-future/..No doubt, you’ve seen the documentary or read Peter Schweizer’s Clinton Cash. The latest edition, Clinton Cash: A Graphic Novel (Yes, it’s all still true.), should be the final nail in the Clintons’ overflowing coffin of corruption. The book brought the evidence, and the movie has been watched more than two million times. The graphic novel, now available at Amazon and other retailers, brings the story of corruption to life by delving into the Clintons’ systematic and lucrative schemes with fantastic art and a huge dose of humor.
Chuck Dixon and Brett R. Smith tell the story of Clinton Cash in a completely new, compelling way. It’s a testament to how powerful a message can be when backed with A-list talent. Everyone involved on the creative team has worked in the comic book industry for years, including the big two. Marvel and DC Comics. In addition to Smith and Dixon, others on the creative team include Sergio Cariello, Don Hudson, Graham Nolan, Paul Rivoche and Taylor Esposito. Be sure to see their bios at the end of the book and support their other works. You’ll be blown away by their experience and be grateful they had the courage to work on this project.

Bernie Sanders would have been a better candidate than Hillary Clinton who brings baggage with her nomination, but no matter how much baggage Hillary brings, her GOP opponent finds ways with his fast mouth to sabotage his own campaign. See article “Trump Is Cratering’: New polls show Republican nominee losing support.” Latest polls also show he is even losing the “red” state of Georgia, a state that is staunchly Republican.

This is a strange presidential race where both parties could have selected more suitable candidates.

Now if Hillary can shut her mouth for a few days, she can gain more national support simply by allowing her opponent to find ways to alienate even more in the GOP party.

Same can be said for the Honolulu mayoral race.

Seriously?!? Clinton has been spinning her lies and deceit for years. The Republicans have nothing to do with it, they just expose a portion of her lies.

    • den says:

well, she’s gotta blame something other than herself…

    • Keolu says:

Maybe, just maybe Hellary’s lies and a complete lack of any political accomplishments have something to do with the public’s lack of trust in her?

    • lespark says:

The problem Clinton faces is an almost endless history of self servicing that is hard to ignore.
Trump’s problem is going against the establishment and all their money and influence. It’s remarkable the SA not mentioning anything about the alleged Iran ransom tells it all.

Breitbart lol, is he related to Brierfox?

  5. NanakuliBoss says:

The republicans knew that she would be a heavyweight when Obama’s term was done. That’s why they targeted her early and hard. Hearings, witch hunts, Hannity, yada yada. Well they were right. While they were hard at work doing stoopid stuff, a fox name trumf, raided their hen house. Now all the kings horsemen cannot put humpty back again. We need a resounding, HAHAHAHAHAHA. and a lol.

  6. Maipono says:

HilLIARy is a heavy weight liar, despicable as they come. She tells so many of them, she can’t tell the difference between reality and fantasy. It would be nice if it were true that her problems were all generated by the GOP, but that too is a lie. Sad excuse for a human being, let alone candidate for the president.

  7. lespark says:

It’s not what you know, it’s who you’re sleeping with.
Bill says: “Hillary could have written her own job ticket, but she turned down all the lucrative job offers.”
The facts are: She flunked the DC bar exam; yes, flunked. It is a matter of record, and only passed the Arkansas bar. She had no job offers in Arkansas – none – and only got hired by the University of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville because Bill was already teaching there. She did not join the prestigious Rose Law Firm until Bill became Arkansas Attorney General and was made a partner only after he was elected Arkansas Governor.

  8. retire says:

This would be hilarious if it weren’t so sad.

  9. lespark says:

What does the Republicans have to do with Crooked Hillary’s trust issues. Well, I guess if you have to blame somebody why not blame them. How can we believe anything she says. She’s a total conflagration.

  10. yobo says:

Both FBI director Comey and Lynch (what a name for a prosecutor) were appointed by Obama.

$400million payment for hostages. Obama trying to deny otherwise.

Firing of DNC chair due to unbias treatment of uncle Bernie. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Can’t wait till Wiki Leaks unleashes a barrage of emails dethroning Crooked Hillary.

Then you have Hillary – Liar, liar pant’s-suit on fire !

  11. Bumby says:

Clinton a woman at the age of 70 running for president. Does she look fit to run our country. We mostly can only view her from the media and be honest with yourself does her eyes and the way she speaks gives you a uncomfortable feeling? If you say not than you are remarkable. If you say yes you know why you feel uncomfortable.

In addition what has she done for America? All you pro Clinton people, go and do some research for it will be very hard to find and if you did you will be like dah, hah.

On the flip side why is there so much controversy about her being a liar, a cheat, conspiracy to murder, a secretary of state making deals with other countries for her benefit and not the benefit of America and its true allies. According to reports the Clinton foundation has gotten over $100 billion donated by mostly foreign countries, which is being investigated so they say. So much garbage is unbelievable.

When accusations are thrown at her she is the best in getting around the issue and blaming others. All the Clinton supporters do one favor for yourself and America, go and research her history and after such fact findings may you have your eyes opened and vote accordingly and if it still for Clinton, may god help us the people of America.

    • hawaiikone says:

Absolutely. There’s inherently far more danger to this nation having a president caught time and time again lying, with high powered political and foreign connections obligated to her, and with an equally immoral husband in tow. This is who our smurfs are pulling for. For those of us able to think clearly, there’s a much better way. Vote for Gary Johnson, an honorable, experienced man, with an equally capable running mate.

  12. Winston says:

“….and appeared to blame her political opponents for her low approval ratings.” George Orwell, call your office. What a piece of work this woman is. She’s lied badly, blatantly, and repeatedly so often it’s becoming hilarious. It’s as though she thinks she can call the sky orange and by repeating that over and over, have people believe her. Some have said Tump has a mental problem. Given this person’s transparent, chronic lying, that charge fits her as well.

  13. st1d says:

the female felon is using her reputation as a congenital liar to cloak serious health problems arising from her concussion, broken arm, fainting spells and cognitive confusion that are forcing her to avoid live television debates and live press conferences where she can not control who the reporters or their questions.

Do you really want a liar for POTUS?
