A 17-year-old juvenile female faces numerous criminal charges, including two counts of attempted murder, after she rammed two cars following a dispute with a 19-year-old man in Kaneohe Wednesday morning.

The case has been classified as attempted murder since the suspect, driving a sport utility vehicle, rammed a vehicle driven by the 19-year-old man at the intersection of Kahekili and Likelike highways just before noon, police said. At that point, the man left his car and jumped into a car driven by a 78-year-old man to escape.

The suspect then hit the car belonging to the 78-year-old man several times trying to stop him, according to police.

Police said the suspect then threatened the 19-year-old man to get into her SUV. The suspect and the victim then fled the scene.

The victim was later located at Castle Memorial Center, treated and released for minor injuries.

The 78-year-old driver also was treated at the hospital and released.

Police later found the suspect’s SUV in Waianae.

Besides two counts of attempted murder, the suspect faces charges of auto theft, unauthorized entry into a vehicle, fleeing the scene of an accident and kidnapping.

The suspect is still at large.

Knowing our court system and the slime attorneys who will probably represent her she will get-off free. For reasons like “She has no previous criminal record”, “She’s young enough to be to go to rehab and going to jail will be more costly”, “She was under a lot of stress”. You watch that’s how our system works here !!!

Not sure what’s worse, a hormone crazed young woman or a carjacking boyfriend. Either way, there was no reason to close the highway for 4+ hours, inconveniencing thousands of motorists.

It’s typical for HPD to close major highways for hours. On the mainland, in investigation for something like this would be over in half an hour. It doesn’t seem to bother too many people so they keep getting away with it. The police get lots of overtime pay for their gross incompetence while the rest of us suffer.
