Waianae man pleads not guilty in attempted murder case
One of two men charged with kidnapping and shooting a man last year will face a Circuit Court jury in September.
Brandon Lafoga, 26, of Waianae, was charged with second-degree attempted murder and a felony firearm offense. He was arrested at Honolulu Airport July 15. He had been serving time in Alaska on an unrelated domestic violence conviction. He is being held at the Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $1 million bail.
Lafoga was arraigned in Circuit Court Monday and entered a plea of not guilty. His trial will begin the week of Sept. 26.
Rainer Ines is the second defendant in the Sept. 16 robbery and shooting of Kele Stout.
Ines will be arraigned in Circuit Court July 28 on a robbery and kidnapping charge. His bail also was set at $1 million.
A police affidavit said Lafoga told an ex-girlfriend that he shot a man to “earn rank.”

The botched murder attempt left Stout in a coma last year after he was shot in the face and drove himself to a medical clinic in Waianae.
The kidnapping began with an argument in which Stout’s co-worker, Ines, accused Stout of going through his bag, the police affidavit said.
The two got into a company van, with Stout driving, when Ines pulled a handgun from his backpack, pointed it at Stout and told him to drive to Waianae.
The police affidavit said Ines allegedly struck Stout’s brow with the gun. Stout said he heard Ines telling someone on the phone that he was going to “rob and dump the body.”
In Waianae, Stout was ordered to sit on a cooler in a garage where he was bound with shoelaces with a towel covering his head, and beaten by Ines and Lafoga for about 20 minutes, the police affidavit said.
Stout said he was forced back into the van and he heard Ines tell Lafoga to “ditch the body” and “handle him.”
While still at an unknown location Stout said he heard Lafoga approaching him, closed his eyes and was shot in the face, the affidavit said.
Lafoga resumed driving and Stout freed his hands. While Lafoga was driving, he allegedly fired at Stout again, hitting him in the back and buttocks, according to the affidavit.
In Nanakuli, the police affidavit said Lafoga stopped the van and got out to meet with someone, but left the engine running. Stout moved to the driver’s seat and drove himself to Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, where a security guard found him leaning on the horn and barely conscious.

He should of tattooed guilty on his head to make it even easier for the cops to find him.
The victim in this case still alive, the judge needs to throw the book at this guy for not owning up immediately. He want’s to go to trial, bury him in the end.
VILE ANIMAL!!! SHOW NO MERCY!! I’m guessing this loser’s failure to finish the job is just another in a long line of failures in his life.
One smart bruddah.
I only wish the judge had the option to mandate this savage animal to become a mandatory organ donor immediately after his trial as partial restitution to society. I hope some future legislative candidate reads my suggestions and puts some real justice on the books instead of continuing these mamby-pambi lock up the prisoner for a few years worthless laws that serve no justice but only waste tax dollars.
Disgusting animal. Send him to Syria
