Cajun-style seafood chain coming to Hawaii
The California-based Boiling Crab Restaurant Group plans to open its first Hawaii restaurant early next year.
The lease has been signed and architectural plans created for the company-owned restaurant at 330 Coral St. in Kakaako, the company said Tuesday.
The seven-location chain, specializing in Cajun-style seafood, also announced plans to expand its five California locations to nine, with four new restaurants in Sacramento, Burbank and Woodland Hills/Calabasas. A franchised location will open in Rosemead, Calif.
The Boiling Crab also has locations in Las Vegas and Dallas.
Hawaiian pilots to picket first Narita flight
Hawaiian Airlines pilots, who are locked in contentious labor negotiations with the company, plan an informational picket for four hours on Friday to coincide with the start of the carrier’s new service between Honolulu and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.

Delta Airlines Capt. Tim Canoll, president of the 52,000-member Air Line Pilots Association, will join pilots at the picket. The picket will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the interisland terminal.
Pickets will carry signs in Japanese to alert Japanese passengers of the situation.
ALPA has asked the National Mediation Board to end mediation and offer binding arbitration, which could lead to a 30-day cooling-off period, after which time the union could strike or the company could impose a lockout.
The chairman of the three-member board will meet with both parties in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 2.
Oahu wind farm planning meetings set
The federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will host two more public meetings this week on plans for offshore wind farms near Oahu.
The meetings will be held:
>> Today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Waianae Intermediate School, 85-626 Farrington Highway, Waianae.
>> Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Waialua Elementary School, 67-020 Waialua Beach Road, Waialua.
The BOEM held a public meeting in May to discuss three plans for wind farms about 12 to 17 miles off Oahu.
The BOEM said it also will accept public comments until Aug. 8. Residents can submit public comments by visiting regulations.gov and entering “BOEM-2016-0049” in the search bar; mailing in an envelope labeled “Comments on Hawaii EA” and addressed to Regional Director, BOEM Pacific OCS Region, 760 Paseo Camarillo, Suite 102, Camarillo, CA 93010; or attending the public meetings.

The Queen’s Health Systems has named Brian Yoshii vice president and chief information officer. He was previously Hawaii region chief information officer for Kaiser Permanente, with more than 15 years’ experience in the local health care information technology community.
Outrigger Hotels and Resorts has named Bill Rees general manager of The Kapalua Villas Maui effective Aug. 1. His experience includes being general manager at Royal Kahana Maui and Eldorado Kaanapali, where he also served as assistant general manager and front office manager, respectively, as well as various positions in reservations for Outrigger’s global contact center in Denver.
