The National Park Service says the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor will be closed to visitors for an extra two days while its dock is replaced.

The Park Service had planned for the new dock to be finished on Sunday. But it now says it won’t be complete until Tuesday.

Visitors are taken on a boat ride to a spot near the memorial while the replacement work is underway. But they aren’t allowed to disembark and get on the memorial. The memorial will reopen to visitors on Wednesday.

The memorial is built over the Arizona, which sank after Japanese planes bombed the battleship on Dec. 7, 1941.

More than 2,400 sailors, Marines and soldiers were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor, including more than 1,100 on the Arizona.
