Sting is returning to perform in Hawaii this fall for the first time since The Police played two shows here in February 2008 during the band’s reunion tour.

The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. Nov. 4 at Blaisdell Arena. Tickets, priced at $65 to $225, will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday and can be purchased online at livenation.com and ticketmaster.com, and at the Blaisdell box office, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Early ticket sales will be available to members of Sting’s official fan club (www.sting.com) from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Sting, 64, is currently on the Rock Paper Scissors summer tour with Peter Gabriel. His Honolulu show is a one-off concert and not part of a larger tour, according to promoter Live Nation.

The composer, singer, actor, author and activist has sold close to 100 million albums from his combined work with The Police and as a solo artist. He was born in Newcastle, England, before moving to London in 1977 to form The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. The punk rock band released five albums, earned six Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

Since 1989, Sting released 14 solo albums and received 10 more Grammys and other accolades. A member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, he was bestowed with a Kennedy Center Honor in 2014.
