Schumer to perform again tonight for charity

Stand-up comedian and actress Amy Schumer will give another pop-up benefit performance tonight at Blue Note Hawaii, the Waikiki jazz club announced today.

Schumer, who is in town to shoot an as-yet unnamed film with Goldie Hawn, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity since the 2013 debut of her Comedy Central Show, “Inside Amy Schumer,” which has won several awards, including a Peabody and an Emmy. She also wrote and starred in the 2015 hit film “Trainwreck,” receiving nominations from the Golden Globes and the Writers Guild of America.

Schumer is known for her self-deprecating remarks and frank observations about sex, feminism, race and relationships.

Schumer performed at Blue Note Hawaii on Monday. Tickets for that event, which also featured Wanda Sykes, blues guitarist “Spice” and local comedian Shane Lucas Price, sold out in 20 minutes. A review of can be found at staradvertiser.com.
