100 gallons of sewage spill from Kauai pump station into storm drain
An estimated 100 gallons of sewage spilled from the Port Allen pump station in Wailua, Kauai, today.
The overflow was first reported at 12:45 p.m. and was contained around 1:15 p.m.
The spill is believed to have run off into a storm drain along Waialo Road.
Cautionary signs were posted in the area and nearby commercial tour operators were notified of the incident.
The cause of the spill is under investigation.
