International artist and Baha’i teacher Hooper Dunbar will give a talk titled “Forces of Our Time: The Dynamics of Light and Darkness,” at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
The free talk, set for 7 p.m. Friday in Spalding Building Room 155, is sponsored by the Baha’i Association of the University of Hawaii.
Dunbar’s expressionist paintings have been featured in shows by the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the National Academy of Arts in Shanghai and at the United Nations in New York, according to a news release. Visit hooperdunbar.com for more about his artwork.
As a member of the Baha’i International Teaching Center, Dunbar traveled through India, Africa, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Canada promoting the Baha’i faith. Among the faith’s beliefs are that there is “only one god; that all the world’s great religions have come from the same source; that all humanity is one family; and that peace will eventually be established throughout the world,” the release said.
