Amber Manuel of the Chaminade softball team has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II Softball Team. The announcement was made on Wednesday.
Manuel, a senior, owns a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Communications with a concentration on Marketing. She is the first ever Academic All-American from the softball program, and the second in Silversword history after Kelly Costello of the women’s basketball team in 2012.
On the field, Manuel was the only Silversword to start all 46 games, batting .281 with 38 hits and 21 runs batted in. On April 8 against BYU-Hawaii, she set a school record with five RBIs.
