The city Medical Examiner’s Office has conducted autopsies on two women killed in separate pedestrian accidents within a day of each other in the Keeaumoku Street area.
The first accident occurred at 10:10 a.m. Friday at Rycroft and Sheridan streets.
A 27-year-old man was driving east on Rycroft when he struck a 52-year-old woman while making a left turn onto Sheridan Street. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk and had the walk signal, police said.
She was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where she died Saturday night.
The second pedestrian accident occurred at 1 p.m. Saturday at Keeaumoku and King streets.
A 25-year-old man was driving east on King Street and was making a right turn onto Keeaumoku Streetwhen he hit a 56-year-old woman. Police said the woman was in or near a crosswalk and had the walk signal.
She was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where she died Sunday night.
There have been 18 traffic deaths this year on Oahu, compared with 19 at the same time last year.
The Medical Examiner’s Office said it would not release the autopsy results until the victims have been identified.
