Kailua, Waipahu experience power outages
Hawaiian Electric Co. is trying to determine the cause of two power outages this morning in Kailua and Waipahu.
The first outage, in Kailua, left 1,760 customers without power for about an hour near the Kailua District Park.
The outage was reported at 5 a.m. and power was restored an hour later.
The second outage, in the Waipahu-Kunia area, left about 800 customers without power.
The problem was reported at 7:30 a.m. and Hawaiian Electric crews are working to restore power to affected customers.
