Suspect arrested in shooting on Las Vegas Strip
LAS VEGAS >> Police say a man jailed on a weapon charge is suspected of wounding a 32-year-old man in the leg during an early-morning shooting on a sidewalk in front of a Las Vegas Strip resort.
Officer Larry Hadfield says 40-year-old Rodrick Lewis was arrested after questioning about the 3 a.m. Monday incident in front of the Paris Las Vegas hotel-casino.
Police say the wounded man arrived at MountainView Hospital in northwest Las Vegas about 4 a.m. with wounds to the thigh and calf. His name wasn’t made public.
The man told investigators he’d been in a fight with another man on the Strip before he was shot.
Police had said they’d detained two people, but didn’t make any immediate arrests.
Hadfield says investigators believe five shots were fired.
