Concert pianist Soyeon Kate Lee relaxed backstage with Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra board chairman Paul Kosasa, left, guest conductor Stuart Chafetz and HSO Executive Director Jonathan Parrish after her debut performance with the orchestra May 8 in the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Lee earned a standing ovation for her expressive interpretation of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major and then returned to encore with Chopin’s waltz “L’adieu” (“Goodbye”).
