Islander remembers Trump as ‘creepy’
Former Miss Hawaii USA Brook Mahealani Lee was sitting next to Donald Trump at the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant as Trump’s then-teenage daughter, Ivanka, was helping to host the event onstage. Trump suddenly turned to her, Lee recalled in the Sunday New York Times.
“Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?” Trump asked.
Lee told the Times, “I was like, ‘Really?’ That’s just weird. She was 16. That’s creepy.”
A front-page story Sunday examined Trump’s relationships with women over the years. Lee, Miss Hawaii USA 1997, went on to become Miss USA and Miss Universe.
