Ex-Boys and Girls Club volunteer indicted in sex assault
A 49-year-old Lihue Boys and Girls Club volunteer has been indicted by a Kauai grand jury of sexually assaulting two underage girls, the Garden Island newspaper reported today.
Eirik Stevens has been charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault in the third degree, the newspaper said.
Police said Stevens allegedly used barbecue-flavored pretzel bites, bags of chips, Hi-chew candy, and other snacks to lure a 7-year-old girl into his Lihue apartment where he then sexually assaulted her.
Stevens met the second victim — an 8-year-old girl — while volunteering at the club, police said.
In that incident, Stevens allegedly repeatedly attempted to inappropriately touch the 8-year-old.
He was arrested on April 5.
