Saks Fifth Avenue said it is looking to fill 130 positions at its new International Market Place store in Waikiki.
The full-line luxury department store will open Aug. 25 and be the first Saks in Hawaii.
The retailer said its recruitment center will open Monday at 1833 Kalakaua Ave., Suite 610. Available positions include selling managers and support managers, as well as sales and support staff in all departments, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, jewelry, shoes, cosmetics, personal shopping, visual merchandising, visual stylists, alterations and asset protection.
The recruitment center will be open for on-site interviews from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Candidates are welcome to apply in person or by sending a resume to SaksHawaii@s5a.com.
When completed this summer, the new International Market Place is expected to create 2,500 permanent jobs. The 277,000-square-foot marketplace will house about 75 stores and nine restaurants in addition to Saks Fifth Avenue. The shopping center will have 700 self-parking spaces and valet service.
Saks operates 40 full-line stores in 22 states and Canada and five international licensed stores.
The retailer also announced that Shelley Tadaki Cramer would be vice president and general manager of the company’s first full-line store in Hawaii.
Cramer previously served as assistant general merchandising manager of Saks Fifth Avenue in San Francisco, where for four years she managed store operations and a team of 150 employees. A Honolulu native, Cramer holds an MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and finance from Gonzaga University and has worked at Max Mara, Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Montblanc.
