University of Hawaii Hilo blew two seventh-inning leads in falling twice to Holy Names, 3-2 and 7-6, in a PacWest baseball doubleheader in Oakland, Calif., on Monday.
David Moody had six strikeouts and took a two-hitter into the final inning before the Hawks, with a runner on second and two outs, strung together four consecutive singles to pull out the win.
In second game, UHH led 6-4 with three outs to secure the win, but HNU got three singles to open the ninth. The Vulcans (4-27, 3-23 PacWest) got two outs, but the Hawks then got consecutive singles to win it.

Nolan Barraza had three hits for the Sharks (26-14, 16-12 PacWest) in the first game, while Tanner Tokunaga had two hits in each game against the Sunbirds (19-20, 14-11).
BYUH falls in softball
Brigham Young-Hawaii’s softball dropped a doubleheader to Azusa Pacific 9-1 and 7-1 at Cougar Field in Azusa, Calif., on Monday.
Kalynn Latu led the Seasiders (9-25, 5-19 PacWest) at the plate in the first game with a 2-for-3 performance including a double and a run. Brandy Karl and Makaela Williamson drove in BYU-Hawaii’s runs.
Kayla Jimenez led the Cougars (30-10, 17-5 PacWest) with a 2-for-5 performance and four RBIs.
Baylor beats HPU in acrobatics, tumbling
The No. 4 Hawaii Pacific Acrobatics & Tumbling team fell to top-ranked Baylor 284.800-278.310 in the semifinal round of the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association National Championships at Baylor University’s Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas.
HPU (4-4) won the Acro (29.60-29.55), but lost the compulsory (38.85-38.60), pyramid (29.80-29.60), toss (29.35-27.85), tumbling (56.850-53.800) and team (100.40-98.86) segments to Baylor (9-0). The Bears will face Oregon today for the national title.
