Former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Kenneth Moritsugu, center, was the honoree when the Danny Kaleikini Foundation and the National Kidney Association of Hawaii presented the A Lifetime of Aloha gala Thursday at the Honolulu Country Club. Among those in attendance were Kaleikini, left, former U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka, U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Linda Wong, who produced the event that raised more than $100,000. Kaleikini entertained the crowd in the style that made him the headliner at the old Kahala Hilton.
