Police ask for help in finding stolen Olympic boxing gloves

Big Island police asked for help in finding a pair of boxing gloves with the autographs of 1984 Olympic boxers and referees that were apparently stolen from a Hawaiian Beaches home.

Hawaii County police are renewing a plea to help find a prized piece of Olympic sports memorabilia.

A pair of Everlast boxing gloves bearing the signatures of several boxers and referees who participated in the 1984 Olympic Games was removed from a home in Hawaiian Beaches, possibly in mid-January, police said.

Police ask anyone with any information about this case to call the Police Department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311 or contact officer Whitman McCallum at 965-2716. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
