A photo of a passenger with a hijacker wearing a fake suicide bomb belt has gone viral on social media.

A British man who was pictured with a man who hijacked an EgyptAir plane says he’s not sure why he posed for the bizarre photo.

Ben Innes told The Sun newspaper he wanted to take “the selfie of a lifetime” while the hijack was unfolding at a Cyprus airport.

The photo of Innes standing next to the hijacker with what looked like an exposed suicide vest went viral on social media within hours.

It’s also become a popular meme, with Innes image photoshoped into other historical events.

The vest turned out to be fake and all the plane’s passengers and crew were released unharmed Tuesday. The hijacker has been arrested.

Innes, 26, told the newspaper in a story published today that he had been texting his mother throughout the ordeal. He says “I figured if his bomb was real I’d nothing to lose anyway.”

This guy is lucky. All those on Metrojet 9268 weren’t so lucky. Still have not released information on how the bombing occurred.

This is what i said in my past post. HUMOR.This might be a way in dealing w/known terrorist groups like the Taliban ,Al qaeda and ISIS. We have tried, negotiations, security, going to war with them. And all has FAILED!! This will be a less harmful strategy…Let’s try it!The US is known for a lot of comedians and definitely not in short supply!!And please! Don’t offend them, like Charlie Hebdo. Do it in good taste! Kill them with Humor!!IMUA
