A weak cold front moving down the island chain could bring rain to Oahu and Maui this morning and Hawaii island in the late afternoon.

Winds at lower elevations remain light, but are coming in from the west and southwest, pushing most of the vog to the east, except on the Big Island.

However, strong winds in the upper atmosphere generated a wind advisory for Big Island summits until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Winds of 30 to 55 mph may gust to 65 mph on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.

Temperatures will drop into the 60s at night Tuesday and Wednesday as the cold front passes.

Following the front, tradewinds should return to the islands by the weekend.
