Doi, Rios lead Rainbows past Chicago State in baseball
Marcus Doi had a career-high four hits with three RBIs and Kekai Rios doubled and drove in three more runs to help Hawaii clinch the series against Chicago State with a 14-0 victory today at Les Murakami Stadium.
Three pitchers combined on a two-hitter for the Rainbow Warriors (9-12), who have won three in a row for the first time this season.
Patrick Martin (1-0) picked up the win with five shutout innings. He allowed a two-out single to Chris Hipchen in the fifth for the first hit by the Cougars (5-13).
Lawrence Chew struck out three in two hitless innings and Josh Pigg struck out the side in the eighth.
Hawaii gave up one earned run in the entire four-game series. The 14 runs scored were a season high.
Eric Ramirez finished 2-for-5 with three runs scored and Jacob Sheldon-Collins was 2-for-4 with two walks and two runs scored.

The Rainbow Warriors host Santa Clara (8-10) for four games starting Thursday before opening Big West play at home against UC Irvine on April 1.
