Firefighters rescue hiker in Waianae Valley
Firefighters rescued a 19-year-old man this morning who fell 50 feet while hiking in Waianae Valley.
The man was hiking with two friends to Mount Kaala when he fell off a ledge, dropped about 50 feet through a free fall, and landed on another ledge below, said Honolulu Fire Department Battalion Chief Geoffrey Chang.
Firefighters rescued the man with a helicopter and took him to Kaneaki Park, where he was transferred to paramedics and taken to the Queen’s Medical Center. An Emergency Medical Services spokeswoman said paramedics treated the man and took him to the hospital in serious condition about 10:30 a.m.

The Young and The Restless
Give the man some credit; at least he wasn’t so foolish as to attempt the hike alone.
Let’s not start bashing certain age groups. I’m sure there are just as many old and restless that fell in their bathtub this year and broke a hip and called the paramedics.
