Nissan recalling vehicles for fuel pump that stops working
Nissan is expanding a recall of 2014 Rogue vehicles to fix a fuel pump problem that can prevent the engine from starting or cause the engine to while the vehicle is being driven.
The expanded recall affects 46,671 vehicles manufactured between July 25, 2013 and June 7, 2014, according to information the manufacturer reported to federal safety officials.
Nissan says the affected fuel pumps have nickel plating that can flake and create loose particles that interfere with the pump’s operation. While the problem is more likely to prevent the engine from starting, Nissan says it could cause a crash if the engine stops while driving.
The company is notifying affected owners to bring their vehicles to a Nissan dealer, who will replace the fuel pump at no cost.

Big deal at no cost for the replacement/repairs. What about owner’s time required to have Nissan’s flaw fixed? Should give the next grease job or maintenance for free!
Nobody gives you compensations for your time in a warrantee on anything you buy.

Cause the engine to idle or stop running? Well at least this gives a much smaller news organization such as The Honolulu Star-Advertiser some comfort in that other much bigger people have proofreading issues. 🙂 😉
blame the pump manufacturer. Blame the air bag manufacturer. Blame the General Motors keyhole designers. Sacrifice quality for profits.
