Holly Kern and Tiarra Davis each homered to help the Texas softball team beat Hawaii 5-2 on Thursday at the Hawaii Pacific Health Rainbow Wahine Classic.

Davis also pitched a six-hitter and struck out five for Texas (18-5). Lindsey Stephens batted 4-for-4 in the win.

Rachael Lack hit a two-run double in the sixth inning for Hawaii (14-15), cutting the Texas deficit to 3-2. But Davis hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to help finish off the Rainbow Wahine.

The Rainbow Wahine host Iowa at 5 p.m. on Friday and Texas at 7.
