Police looking for shoplifter from Louis Vuitton store
Honolulu police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a shoplifter with a taste for high-end merchandise.
Police released security camera images and video of the man, who entered the Louis Vuitton store in Waikiki at about 9 p.m. on Feb. 3, concealed an item and allegedly left without paying.
The video shows the suspect, carrying a Macy’s bag, wearing a sleeveless T-shirt, plaid shorts and tennis shoes walk up to a display table, take what appears to be a wallet, and hide it behind the Macy’s bag.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Honolulu police at 529-3111 or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.

That place has more security than the President’s entourage. Some loser like that comes in and steals a wallet right under their noses. Fire that security team. Some dude with a tank top and a Macy’s bag…..come on.
First thing that I look for is a store’s security camera above me. It makes me feel a lot safer shopping there.
Why is the face of this criminal blurred out in the surveillance video?? How is the public supposed to help identify this criminal if you cannot see his face? HPD did the same thing last week on a video where HPD was asking the public help in identifying a couple stealing a phone in a supermarket store. People get caught on video committing a crime so why is it necessary to “protect” their identity from the public?
Honestly it looks more like the lack of video resolution and excessive lossy compression. A better question is why a luxury store of this caliber, easily prone to theft, can’t afford to have some HD cameras. I would expect this level of technological obsolescence from a government agency but not private industry. Frankly, LV deserves to take the loss if they can’t afford to upgrade their infrastructure.
Makes it a lot more challenging to earn your reward. That was easy. Not!
Japanese or Chinese tourist?
Local. Look for items on Craigslist or eBay soon
I thought that Louis Vuitton buys it from Craigslist?
Half and half.
To little, to late……the guy is out of State already is my guess……..
check e-bay or craiglist?
or da kine Kam drive-in swap meet
This is peanuts Louis Vuitton, you can afford the loss, write it off, what is it $500 for a small wallet.
The stuff is crap anyway.
Probably an inside job with one of their own sales clerks?
LV will write it off, but they still want their stuff back. Who says you can’t have it both ways.
Over-priced high-end merchandise much desired by fashioned-conscious women. Thus beau aim to please without paying for merchandise. Displayed item not too expensive thus accessibility. Higher-priced item stored or displayed in enclosed counter or behind counter on the back shelf or glass enclosed. Never-the-less a theft is a theft and in the end the consumers pays for it as potential losses are included into computed selling prices.
cojef. You rather settle for the inexpensive store, shopping bag all tethered to your shopping cart in the park.
Wasting money on high priced goods is a good sign of high consumer confidence.
Usually a shop lifter is apprehended right at the seen as he walks out.
I have notified many cashiers of a man putting an item into his backpack without paying for it. Cashier calls security to book ’em. I feel good knowing that I prevented a, STEM. Shoplifters Take Everyone’s Money.
