The Hawaii Pacific University baseball team split a doubleheader with Felician University (N.J.), winning the opener 6-5 before dropping the finale 8-3 on Sunday at Hans L’Orange Park.
It was Tanner Mary’s run-scoring single in the home half of the sixth, bringing in Christian Kapeliela for the game-winning run in the opener. Kyle Detwiler earned the win and Brandon Bonilla secured his third save of the season.
Game two featured a five-run fourth inning for the Golden Falcons (2-3) that proved too much for the Sharks to overcome. The Sharks (8-2) won three of five in the series.
Hawaii Pacific returns to Hans L’Orange Park on Friday to begin PacificWest Conference play with a doubleheader against Concordia (Calif.) University. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
