It looks a tad cold for a swim, perhaps
The Shannon family of Kailua — Heather, left, Lindsey, Scott and Mac — visited a chilly Waikiki Beach in Washington state in December. The beach at Cape Disappointment State Park sits at the mouth of the Columbia River where the average temperature in December is 43 degrees. Waikiki Beach got “its name when a Hawaiian sailor’s body washed ashore … after his ship was wrecked in a failed attempt to cross the Columbia River bar in 1811,” according to a travel guide cited by the Discover Washington State website.
