Rousey admits to having suicidal thoughts after loss to Holm
LOS ANGELES » Ronda Rousey says she had dark thoughts after she lost her bantamweight title to Holly Holm in Australia last year, her first defeat since joining UFC.
“Honestly, my thought in the medical room, I was sitting in the corner and was like, ‘What am I anymore if I’m not this?’” Rousey said today during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” ”Literally sitting there thinking about killing myself. In that exact second, I’m like: ‘I’m nothing. What do I do anymore?”
Rousey told DeGeneres that her relationship with UFC heavyweight Travis Browne helped get her through.
“I looked up and saw my man, Travis, was standing there,” Rousey said. “I’m looking up at him and was just like: ‘I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.’”
Rousey won her first 12 mixed martial arts fights — eight of them in less than a minute — before stepping into the cage against Holm in Melbourne last November. Holm finished her off with a devastating kick to the head.
Rousey told DeGeneres that she wants to be the one to beat Holm, who will make her first title defense against Miesha Tate in Las Vegas next month.

at least she’s going out with a local guy.
Must have been embarrassing to lose so badly after talking so much smack. Live and learn, next time she won’t be so bold when speaking to the media.
I’m just a Loco Loco in the head guy. Loco Moco, that is.
Shut yer mouth Ya dumb broad!
Self worth does not truly come from what you do, but who you are.
well said
Winning didn’t come easy? Boo hoo! Show what you’re made of and bounce back.
She always showed a wide grin after her easy wins over other fighters. Now no Ha Ha Ha. Boo hoo.
Hmmm. Maybe her priorities are a little mixed up. Winning comes from within. Whatever. Seems like she has the desire to win and that is all that matters to her.
I hope Rousey gets a rematch with Holm and get licken again
Holms is way too big for RR. RR walked into all her punches into her face. Needs a strategy to duck and feint to avoid getting hit. Needs speed and agility. Also grow up and stop acting like a silly jealous child with Miesha Tate on TV yelling, stomping around like spoiled girl not getting her way, and sticking her middle finger at everybody she doesn’t like. The MMA loves its new clown. Everybody loves a dumb broad who doesn’t realize she is being used and helping Dana White make lots of money at the expense of her reputation and lack of intelligence. A lot of folks are making lots of moolah, and we love to watch strong talented combatants working hard to get CTE, crooked jaws, recalibrated joints for life. Aren’t you amazed how MGM Grand gets every MMA major fight in Vegas? Just like the sword and pitchfork combatants from the Colosseum. Violence is colossally popular. What will beat MMA? Murder? Rape? Torture? Bombings? Shooting into rock concerts and deli’s? Are we going mad? YES! So let the parties begin!
Ay, Ronda babes. You better have a Plan B how you’re going to continue making money if you lose. Do you have health insurance and life insurance? We love your hate and angry pretty face so make an act out of it. Like Ali. He was just acting and we loved watching him go insane before his fights. Ali was a large guy, well-built, and could move around gracefully while torturing his opponents with his snap jabs. But he lost several times and then came back. Incredibly great entertainment. He knew there would be be losses in career and accepted them. He showed everybody how a proud successful black man behaves. Even American ones, too. Learn from guys like Ali. Ronda, learn to fight for something bigger than yourself. Fight for women, Fight for social justice. Fight for America. You need an inspiration to drive you to success.
Character is built not by your successes, but how you comeback from your failures.
Stand strong. You win some. You lose some. You are young. You have a lot of time to make it up.
