New ice cream shop to replace Bubbies
Ice cream will once again be sold at the former Bubbies Ice Cream & Desserts space on University Avenue.
Bubbies, which closed in October after 30 years at Varsity Center, will be replaced with Island Scoops, opening Tuesday.
The new shop will feature many of Bubbies favorite products, including mochi ice cream, Ivan Lui-Kwan, managing member of Hokukahu LLC, said in a statement this morning. Island Scoops is a subsidiary of Hokukahu.
The shop will open at 11 a.m. Tuesday with a blessing.

Yes green tea is healthy for your puppies.
Great location. Near a school to satisfy the youngster ‘ s sweet tooth.
Ivan Lui Kwan sure seems to have a lot of pokers in the fire. Wonder if he is planning to have marijuana induced ice cream.
