Police want to question ‘armed and dangerous’ escapee in shooting
Hawaii County police are searching for an escaped inmate, considered armed and dangerous, in connection with a shooting in the Honolii area on Jan. 31.
Police want to question Scottie Yanagawa about the case, but did not name him as a suspect.
Yanagawa escaped from the Hale Nani correctional facility on Nov. 19, police said.
He is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 225 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He may be clean shaven.
Police responded to several reports of gunshots in the Honolii lookout area about 4:35 a.m. on Jan. 31. At the same time a 31-year-old Kona man had been taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds by a private vehicle. He underwent surgery and was transferred to an Oahu hospital in guarded condition and is recovering, police said.
Police said anyone with information on Yanagawa should not approach him but instead call police at (808) 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.

With escaped felons it should be “shoot on sight”.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if one of them happened to look just like you, drive the same type of vehicle and frequent the same areas?
