Lilia Maio scored 16 points and four other Chaminade players scored in double figures as the Silverswords ended a six-game losing streak with a 79-70 win over Notre Dame de Namur in a women’s basketball game Saturday in Belmont, Calif.
Courtney Kaupu and Kristle Henry each added 14 points and Carissa McBride and Shana Kawakami each had 12 for the Silverswords (5-14, 5-10, PacWest).
Jerusha Paine finished with 27 points for the Argonauts (3-19, 2-12).

Wahine water polo wins seventh straight
The fourth-ranked University of Hawaii water polo team will take a seven-match winning streak into the final day of the Bruno Classic after posting wins over No. 21 Harvard and Bucknell on Saturday in Providence, R.I.
UH freshman Irene Gonzalez scored five goals in a 13-8 win over Harvard.
Freshman Femke Aan scored four goals and Gonzalez and Nikki-Marie Bell added three each in UH’s 14-11 win over Bucknell.
UH (9-1) closes the tournament today with matches against No. 20 Marist and No. 17 Hartwick.
UH men finish tied for 13th at Waikoloa
The University of Hawaii men’s golf team finished tied for 13th after shooting a 1-under-par 287 in Saturday’s final round of the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Kings Course.
Southern Cal won the 19-team tournament with an 835, UCLA finished second at 837 and Arizona State was third at 842. Hawaii Hilo finished tied for 16th at 883.
Oregon’s Aaron Wise won the individual title with a 16-under 200. Southern Cal’s Rico Hoey was second at 202 and Stanford’s Maverick McNealy placed third at 203.
Hawaii’s top finisher was Skye Inakoshi, who tied for 42nd at 216. Hawaii Hilo’s leading golfer was Ric Yamamoto, who tied for 20th at 212.
BYU-Hawaii, HPU softball teams split pair
The Brigham Young-Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific softball teams split a doubleheader Saturday at Howard A. Okita Field.
In the first game, T. Anu Memea had a grand slam and seven RBIs in the Seasiders’ 11-3 victory. Kayla Sanchez homered for the Sharks.
In the second game, Gabriella Fordiani and Paige Crawford both hit two-run homers in HPU’s 6-2 win. Crawford also pitched an eight-hitter. BYU-Hawaii’s Brittany Vasquez homered.
The Sharks are 2-2 and the Seasiders are 1-3.

In the first game, Bailey Gaspar and Angela Aquinaga both drove in two runs in the Vulcans’ 11-4 victory over Concordia-St. Paul.
In the second game, Central Washington beat Hawaii Hilo 4-2. Danielle Pulido had two hits for the Vulcans.
Hawaii Hilo moved to 2-2.
UH women’s tennis team beats Cal Poly
The No. 67 Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated Cal Poly 4-0 on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex.
Cindy Nguyen, Roxanne Resma and Paulina Petriskova won singles matches for the Rainbow Wahine. The three other singles matches were abandoned.
Nguyen/Resma and Marina Hruba/Petriskova claimed doubles victories.
Coolen, Davis to speak at QB Club
University of Hawaii softball coach Bob Coolen and journalist/author David Davis will speak at the Honolulu Quarterback Club on Monday at Maple Garden Restaurant.
Coolen is in his 25th season with the Rainbow Wahine, who open their season Thursday. Coolen’s record at UH is 897-518-1.
Davis will discuss his latest book, “The Waterman: The Life and Times of Duke Kahanamoku.”
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and costs $16.
Vulcan baseball team beats alumni
The Hawaii Hilo baseball team beat an alumni squad 17-5 on Saturday at Francis Wong Stadium.
Jacob Grijalva had four RBIs and Jonathan Segovia had two extra-base hits and three RBIs for the Vulcans, who finished with 17 hits.
