This week the local cooking show presents the final installment of recipes from host Grant Sato’s big adventure in Korea. The eggplant preparation below was among the dishes that won him top honors at the Global Taste of Korea in Seoul.

Gaji Namul Seasoned Cooked Eggplant
>> 1 pound long eggplant
>> 3 cloves garlic, grated
>> 1 tablespoon fish sauce
>> 1 tablespoon soy sauce
>> 1 teaspoon gochigaru (red chili flakes)
>> 2 teaspoons sesame seed oil
>> 1 tablespoon crushed sesame seeds
>> 1/2 cup chopped green onion
Split eggplant in half. In pan on high, sear. Set aside to cool.
In bowl, combine remaining ingredients and mix well.
Slice eggplant into bite-size strips. Toss with seasoning mixture and serve immediately. Serves 2 as a side.
