Wine, dainty treats certain to please
Enjoy an evening of “Cabaret, Chocolate! Wine!” on Feb. 13 at First Unitarian Church of Honolulu.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a silent auction and light pupu, followed by a tasting of 12 wines, Champagnes and brandies paired with petits fours and chocolates by Boston chocolatier Cynthia Lynch.

Class features Middle Eastern taste
Liven up your chicken repertoire with flavors of the Middle East at a class Feb. 20 at Kapiolani Community College led by chef Magdy Elzoheiry, a native of Egypt.
The class, 8 a.m. to noon, will feature a Moroccan tagine (stew) with preserved lemon and green olives; a Tunisian dish with figs, mint and walnuts; and a Persian recipe for koresh fesenjan, or braised chicken with pomegranate, molasses and walnut.

5 isle restaurants on ‘romantic’ list
Five Hawaii restaurants are included on a list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America: Capische at the Hotel Wailea on Maui; La Mer at Halekulani and Michel’s at the Colony Surf in Waikiki; Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt Kauai in Poipu; and ‘Ulu Ocean Grill and Sushi Lounge at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kaupulehu, Hawaii.
The list was released Monday by OpenTable.com, an online dining and review site. Reviews of more than 5 million OpenTable users submitted between Dec. 7, 2014, and Dec. 6 were analyzed to compile the list.
