Zarkovic reaches milestone in UH volleyball win
Freshman hitter Stijn van Tilburg put down 18 kills and senior hitter Siki Zarkovic added 16 to reach 1,000 career kills as No. 6 Hawaii defeated Grand Canyon 25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-19 in a nonconference volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Zarkovic became the 19th Rainbow Warrior player to reach 1,000 kills in helping Hawaii (6-1) win its 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Van Tilburg also was in on a career-high seven blocks as the Warriors outblocked the ‘Lopes 11-8.5.
Gerrard Lipscombe led Grand Canyon (5-2) with 11 kills.
