Police search for man after woman set on fire in Kahaluu
Police are looking for a 25-year-old man who was arguing with a 24-year-old woman in a van just before the woman was allegedly set on fire in Kahaluu Monday.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Kahekili and Kamehameha highways around 2 p.m.
Police said the couple were arguing in a parked van when the argument escalated.
Homicide detectives have classified the case as an attempted second-degree murder. No arrests have been made.
The woman suffered second-degree burns to her arms, legs and back.
An accelerant was reportedly used in the crime and a vehicle was damaged by the ensuing blaze.

Journalism skills are lacking. Yesterday, the headline was something like “Woman receives burns from fire”, without any further details. I was thinking yep, fire causes burns, is this some kind of public service announcement?
