Somali extremists use Donald Trump clip to recruit followers
MOGADISHU, Somalia » Al-Qaida’s East African affiliate has released a recruitment video targeting American blacks and Muslims that includes a clip of presidential candidate Donald Trump calling for Muslims to be banned from entering the United States.
The 51-minute video by the Somalia based al-Shabab militant group presents the U.S. as a country of institutionalized racism against blacks that also persecutes Muslims. The video presents radical Islam as the solution.
The clip of Trump on the campaign trail consists of his infamous proposal for the “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” to protect the country.
Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had earlier claimed that the Islamic State group, another extremist organization, was using such quotes to recruit followers, prompting Trump to call her a “liar.”
The quotes from Trump are bracketed by a recorded speech from Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, one of the most prominent English-language recruiters for al-Qaida who was killed by a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in 2011, warning that the U.S. would turn against its Muslims.
The video was released on Twitter Friday, according to the SITE Intel monitoring group and tells the story of several Americans from Minnesota that joined al-Shabab and were killed in the fighting in Somalia, holding them up as examples to be followed.

Using footage from recent racial conflicts in the U.S. as well as historic quotes from Malcolm X, the video lays out the argument that blacks and Muslims will always face discrimination in the U.S. and should join jihadi movements to fight back.
Al-Shabab is fighting the internationally-backed Somali government. It was pushed out of Mogadishu in 2011 with the help of African Union troops.
The militants have still carried out numerous guerrilla attacks in Somalia and the countries contributing troops, including Kenya, Djibouti and Uganda.
Trump, who is leading in polls in the race to be the Republican candidate in next year’s presidential election, has been rebuked by both Democratic and Republican candidates for their parties’ nomination, for his proposed ban on Muslims in early December.
Clinton’s campaign declined to comment on the video.
Associated Press writers Tom Odula in Nairobi, Kenya, Paul Schemm in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Tom Strong in Washington, D.C. contributed to this report.

ISIS’ best friend: Hillary Clinton.

should be Donald Trump. He’s the one boosting ISIL recruiting numbers.
wilikitutu, prove it.
And so it starts the lies, weak and the egotistical means to achieved the goal covet by fools!
Great job Hilary, giving ideas to the radicals. People actually want this self centered woman to be our next President.
Yep, Hillary steps in it again. She already slept through her Benghazi 3AM phone call., now she wants a do-over.
3AM phone call link works, it’s just not highlighted.
unreal you people. nothing in this story was understood. brainless palani!
nalogirl! did you even read the story. obviously not! get some education girl.
Really you think it’s her fault. Wake up you think the terrorists couldn’t figure it out them self.
Until an actual timeline is known regarding which came first, it remains a distinct possibility that Hillary did provide the impetus to create the Trump video.
“Impetus”? Baloney-tus…
Sure it does… because they never would have thought of it themselves, right?
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Hillary Clinton’s supporters made the video.
Of course it happened after Hilary made her remark. How else did the clip of Trump get in there. He said it right after San Bernadino. Hilary is a failure, and Carter did not let Iranian immigrants in1979. I guess since he was a democrat it was okay, sickening.
@nalogirl: you do see the distinction between a citizen of a country and a member of a religion, right?
Unless anyone here knows for certain which came first – the Somali video including Trump or Hillary’s remark – maybe you should all tone down the chest-puffing attitude.
It actually doesn’t matter which came “first”; it was inevitable that it would happen as his remarks play right into their objectives.
This is what Democrats do not want you to know about what Trump said about suspending immigration of Muslims until the US government figures out what is happening. Title 8 of the U.SA. Code, Aliens and Nationality, was passed by a Democrat-controlled congress in 1952 and was signed into law by Democrat President Harry Truman. Section 1182 (f), Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President, reads as follows: “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.” It was used in 1979 by Democrat President Jimmy Carter to keep out Iranians. How can Democrats now say it is unconstitutional and un-American to do what Trump suggested?
This is a Republican lie. Check it out with Fact check.
For the whole story, please fact check Obama. Kerry, and Hilliary while your at it.
Tutu, Snoopes.com says it is TRUE that “President Jimmy Carter announced sanctions against Iran in 1980, including the cancellation of visas for Iranian citizens.” What part of my comment is a lie?
Obviously , Trump will anyone a liar who will not agree with him. He doesn’t need the facts aT all
wilikitutu, and just as obviously you’ll call Trump a liar even if he were to say, “Up is the opposite of down.”
Ah.. “monkey see, monkey do”.
Yes. That’s Trump.
Baloney Trump leading in all the polls. Not bad foe a monkey. The low info d-rats have a lot to learn.
In polls for the Republican nomination. Big deal.
As Pentagon spokesman, Peter Cook, said, “anything that creates tensions and creates the notion that the United States is at odds with the Muslim faith and Islam would be counterproductive to our efforts right now, and totally contrary to our values.” Given that many Muslim countries are allied with Washington in the fight against the Islamic State, he added it would also be “contrary to our national security.”
Waiting for Trump to announce that appearing in a terrorist recruitment video was a great honor and that it will be the highest rated terrorist video ever.
