My heart goes out to any family that loses a child. That child had so much going ahead of he/her life..
Professional truck operators who undergo a CDL license, are trained to make a quick check behind the vehicle before reversing.
Certain utility service companies have the driver place a safety cone at the back of the vehicle that makes them visit that area before backing up.
mike, decades ago in Honolulu, a mail man killed a child while reversing from a driveway. That’s why utility service drivers started placing cones and tried avoiding parking in driveways. What a coincidence, you working for USPS and mentioning this.
Especially difficult is an fatal accident that occurs around the holiday season.
My deepest ALOHA to her ohana.
I am so sorry to hear this. My condolences to her ohana
Wow! This is horrible. My condolences to the family. And the truck driver, seek help, this will be hard to live with.
This has to be the worst. The poor family. I really wonder if I could handle it if it happened to my grand daughter.
Please don’t ever phantom the thought of that occurring with anymore children.
What was the child doing behind the truck? Only more reason that new model cards have a rear view camera. Condolence to the family.
More safety features on a vehicle raises the overall cost without being factored into the inflation question.
I can not in my mind father of three children grandpa pf five fathom how a one year old is on the driveway unattended unless you want this tragedy to happen. I am devastated.
I have no sympathy for responsible adults.
Yes, somewhere in this tragic event is at least one, possibly two, irresponsible adults. But especially if the driver is a blood relation to the child who was killed, I don’t see any criminal charges being filed. Cynically, a trial involving that circumstance would make for a lot of bad press.
Without any criminal charges, this child will never have the proper closure? We all have to be accountable for our actions.
This is tragic, but someone should be held accountable
It would also help heal the pain and close any open wound in the heart of the family by bring justice into the scene.
How sad. I cry. May God Bless.
May God comfort Jada’s Ohana during this tragic incident . God Bless!
My heart aches for this family who lost a precious angel.
First condolences to the family of the 1year old child. The accident details begs the question how did the baby get out to driveway? Who was the 47 year female driver, a relative or employee of a compsny?
So sad. This is why you back into a driveway/parking stall.
Post office has us backing up, too.
