Police arrested a 33-year-old Whitmore Village man who allegedly struck a vehicle with his car and kidnapped a female passenger in Wahiawa Monday night.
The suspect allegedly drove his car behind another vehicle belonging to a 36-year-old man, then suddenly swerved and collided with the vehicle, causing it to spin and hit a chain-link fence, according to a Honolulu Police Department report.
The suspect then got out of his car and told the passenger, a 23-year-old woman, to get into his car. The woman complied, police said. The suspect then allegedly verbally threatened the other man.
Police located the suspect at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage, kidnapping and second-degree terroristic threatening.
A police lieutenant with the Criminal Investigation Division declined to provide information about the relationship between the suspect and the woman. However, police arrested and charged the suspect with misdemeanor abuse of a family member.
